Below you’ll find all the people that work on this site. We all wrote a little semi-autobiographical piece about ourselves, so that you can get to know us just a little bit better.
Hi, my name is Madelon, also known as JVtje. I’ve been a fan of the Sims games, ever since the very first Sims 1 game.
I’ve gotten involved with the Dutch website Simparool – the predecessor of the Sunset Valley Times – way back in 2004. I started there as a translator, mostly to translate English (news)articles in to Dutch. Soon I started helping out creating and putting together the news paper.
After a few years, I took the role as webmaster from Wouter. I still love doing this. I like to help my team wherever possible and I’m the one making the decisions wherever needed. The only thing I will never do, is writing articles for the newspaper. Simply because I can’t…
Chief technical webmaster, founder of SVT predecessor Simparool and Sims community veteran for over 86 years. Does many things on the site, but focuses mainly on keeping the entire thing running behind the scenes (which apparently involves a lot of duct tape). IT guy in real life, single, “spontaneous”, cynical over the fact that he’s supposedly spontaneous, notorious Twitter twat, and loves to talk about himself in the third person.
As an assistant technical webmaster, it means that I mainly do a lot behind the scenes work. But I’m also responsible for posting a lot of the news on the site. On top of that I’m a freelance editor. So I would fit in al the three categories on this page, yaay. Furthermore you could describe me as fun, sarcastic, loves to make people laugh, Apple fanboy, recreational (mountain)biker, likes to Tweet, still studying, hopes to work in the games industry, likes statistics (did you know you’ve spend at least 1 minute reading this, then another few minutes debating whether or not you actually spend 1 minute reading this?) and doesn’t have enough room anymore to describe himself…
Hey, I’m Brandon! Well, to start off I live in the city of Durban, South Africa. I love Sims, and also since its release in 2000 (yup, that’s right. I got The Sims when I was 5.) When it comes to playing, I’m a build/buy kinda guy. And no, I do not live in a mud hut, and no, I do not have a pet lion.
Hi, my name is Daan, and I’m one of Sunset Valley Times’ editors. Basically, I’ve been playing The Sims ever since I learnt how to read, maybe even before that, and I’m still playing! As the youngest editor around here I’m usually the one the rest of the team makes fun of. I love absurd things and if someone in Sunset Valley experiences something bizarre, I’ll probably be the first one to write about it. Besides that, I’m pretty normal compared to some other editors… But don’t tell them I said that.
Hi, I’m Jolijn, and it’s my task to take care of our special brainwash programme. Hmm, I guess I wasn’t supposed to tell that. Never mind. I write articles for the Sunset Valley Times. When I count to three, you wake up and won’t remember anything of this conversation. Just that I’m an editor. One… Two… Three. Hi, I’m Jolijn – one of the editors for/from the Sunset Valley Times. Nice to meet you!
Hi I’m Maarten, and I haven’t written a piece about myself yet!
Hi, I’m Peter and everyone above me is a llama! I’m one of Sunset Valley Times’ (freelance) editors. I like having the duck time moodlet, because rubberducks are the best! If I was a Sim, I would collect Ducksworth of Bathington ducks. Hmm, too bad they’re only available in yellow…
Hi there! My name is Suzan. I’ve been playing the Sims for some time now, though I’m not the most fanatic player ever. I especially like building houses and I secretly prefer the Sims 2 to the Sims 3, but don’t tell anyone okay? I started working for this site a few years ago and created downloads for the site then. Nowadays I do all kinds of stuff for the site, like writing articles and putting the newspaper together.
Hi, my name is Tessa, but around here I’m better known as Dogna.
I started playing the Sims when I was a little girl, and even though I’m quite a big girl now, I still like playing it. First I played the Sims, after that the Sims 2 and now I’m addicted to the Sims 3. I wish I had more time for it, but unfortunately I have a life.
I am a bit of a control freak, so I love the fact that my Sims have to do everything I tell them to do, whether they like it or not…
