We haven’t heard a lot from Maxis lately. Their last game Darkspore wasn’t a huge success and they are no longer officially linked to the Sims, since that game is being done at a separate studio now.
But from the looks of it, Maxis is making a return.

Herman Cain, a presidential hopeful of the American Republican Party has made the news lately with his ’999 plan’. This plan is focussed all around the American tax system. But did he come up with the plan himself, or did he draw inspiration from a certain video game?

We haven’t heard anything from Maxis in a long time, but now they are showing to the world that they still exist. The development team at Maxis has started an official SimCity page on Facebook.

Even though SimCity 4 is already nearly a decade old, the game is still loved by many and seen as the last “real” SimCity game. Ocean Quigly (Art Director from SimCity 4) posted an update on his personal blog, explaining how roads worked in the game. Apparently there was quite some technical stuff going on behind roads.

EA is keeping a massive sale this weekend. You can get up to 90% off of titles in the app store, but also on Origin and the Xbox Live Marketplace.

EA is holding a sale for it’s apps. A select number of apps are now 85% off of their regular price, in celebration of fathers day. One of those games is SimCity Deluxe HD for iPad.

EA has posted an update for SimCity Deluxe for iPhone. This update brings the game to version 1.0.1. Most important new addition is retina display support for iPhone 4 users. You can update the game right now via your iPhone/iPod Touch or via iTunes.

EA has release the iPad version of SimCity Deluxe in the App Store. Dubbed as SimCity Deluxe HD, this version is made especially for the iPad.
