Play on Minecraft!

“Minecraft is a game about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine. At night monsters come out, make sure to build a shelter before that happens.”

At SVT we love the indie game Minecraft, which is why we made our own server to mine and build as much as our hearts desire… We recently migrated our server to a webhost, meaning that it’s now possible to play 24/7! We’ve also set up a proprietary Voice over IP server with Mumble for voice chat.
Read on to see how you can connect to our server…

Getting on the server

You’ll need the Minecraft client from Minecraft.net in order to play. It’s available right now for just €19.95, and it works on Windows, Mac, Linux and any other OS which runs Java. It’s required to register an account there before you purchase the game.

To connect to the SVT Minecraft server, click on the Multiplayer button in the main menu and enter to following URL:

SVT Minecraft server URL:
http://svt-mine.verygames.net

Click connect and that’s it, you’re on the server!

Mumble voice chat

Mumble is a free open source voice chat system which enables you to easily talk with other users on the server. It works separately from Minecraft, so you’ll need to download another application to be able to use Mumble. You can get the Mumble client at their website for free.
Once you’re set-up, use the following URL, port and password to get on the server:

Mumble server URL:
mumble-4.verygames.net
Port:
50434
Password:
sunset

Rules, news and discussion

We expect everyone to keep to the following rules. Failure to do so will result in a (permanent) ban from the server.

  • Be respectful to others.
  • Uphold the server’s philosophy
  • No griefing (deliberately sabotaging or destroying other people’s projects)
  • No stealing
  • No hacking

For a more detailed explanation of the rules, have a look in the Minecraft Topic at our forums. In here you’ll also see the latest news and discussion about the server. So it’s always good to check it out once and a while to see what’s new.

Map and who’s online

We’ve got a map connected to the server which shows the whereabouts of every user online. The map itself is updated after every 8 hours. Wanna view the map in full screen glory or on your mobile phone? Go right here for the stand alone page of the map.
